The Cannabis industry has come a long way, but it is not without the hard work and hardships of so many who are serving time for a plant. The atrocity that people are in jail for cannabis crimes and in places where it is now legal and companies and all tiers of the government are profiting from it, is of the highest injustice. We stand in solidarity and support The Last Prisoner’s Project, whose exact mission is bringing “restorative justice to the cannabis industry.” To learn more about The Last Prisoner’s Project, please click on their logo above and follow them on social media to learn about opportunities to help support the mission and be ready to answer their calls to action.
Katie Baked Goods has been a participating member of The Cannabis Alliance since 2017. We too believe and are ”Dedicated to the advancement of a vital, ethical and sustainable cannabis industry.” Over the past few years, The Cannabis Alliance has made great advancements, forged relationships with legislators and regulators and have influenced policy and regulations for the betterment of our industry in Washington State. Our founder of Katie Baked Goods has also actively been involved in helping craft regulations and rule changes with the Liquor and Cannabis Board, and will continue to fight for what is right, just, sensible and equitable.
A major component to changing policies and regulations is having transparency in information. The Cannabis Observer does just that for the cannabis industry in Washington State. They attend, record and recap all the public policy meetings of the Liquor and Cannabis Board and at the capitol at the legislative levels for bills effecting cannabis policy. As a cannabis company, having access to these audio recordings and regular daily updates from The Cannabis Observer makes it easy to stay informed on issues and policies. It also holds the regulators and policy makers accountable for their words and actions, as they are all taped and on record. The Cannabis Observer is an integral part to knowing how to best navigate, participate, and advocate for change. If you are passionate about the cannabis industry in Washington State, please follow The Cannabis Observer on their social channels and subscribe to their emails. Katie Baked Goods is grateful for their work and continues to support their valuable contributions to the advancement of our industry.
Our work has just begun. We are excited for the future and the change we can help create.
